International® is pleased to announce the four winners of the Technician of Influence Award for the month of April. The individuals listed here have demonstrated their commitment to pursuing continuous improvement and delivering the highest level of customer service.
ROOKIES
These tech professionals have less than two years of experience at the dealership, have shown commitment to Uptime by being top producers, have gone the extra mile, and have proven they are responsible and trustworthy.
Service Technician
Chris is a very hardworking, exceptionally dependable individual, who excels at every task and goes above and beyond what is expected of him. He is an amazing team player and has a positive attitude that is contagious in Silver State International.
He has completed all International training in less than 2 months and is extremely dedicated to this industry. He takes exceptional pride whether it's on the technical side or the business side. If he's doing a bigger job such as an overhaul, he stays late to finish the job and get our customers back on the road. He understands that our customer's biggest concern is having downtime.
Chris has over 12 years of experience in the trucking industry, so naturally, his knowledge and talent are prime examples of what to teach our younger techs. His leadership ensures our guys are on the right track, and his teaching excels their learning capabilities. Chris is trustworthy and responsible with every task and has gone out of his way to make sure our rookie technicians succeed and move forward in their careers.
He demonstrates extremely high productivity during every job and has given zero comebacks since he was hired. Chris recently obtained his commercial Driver's license to better diagnose and repair trucks. Chris started his career working on Cummins and Caterpillar engines, so when he came to International, he had to learn everything International. He adjusted very quickly and never got discouraged. He is a total asset, and we are lucky to have him. You won't find technicians like Chris very often!
Idealease Service Technician
Patrick comes to Altruck International Truck Centres with 30 years of experience and knowledge under his belt. Right from day one Patrick has shown true passion for his trade. He is taking our younger apprentices under his wing, teaching them proper diagnostic procedures, and helping them understand why these faults occur, making for a stronger future. Patrick has built a great relationship with our customers; we have several customers requesting Patrick for their service calls. Patrick has put in some long hours helping out our customers on-site. Several customers have called to thank us for sending him out, stating he went above and beyond for them, allowing us to gain and retain new customers for our location.
Patrick shows his knowledge of all aspects of our business, from mentoring our apprentices to taking the time to answer technical questions from prospective new customers looking to purchase a truck. With his jolly attitude and personal skills, Patrick has helped increase our customer retention, which in turn has helped our productivity. Patrick is one of our highest productivity producers, performing exceptional work, well within our time restraints, to keep our customers on the road.
Patrick is the first one to pick up a broom and help clean up a bay, lending a helping hand if someone is struggling to complete their job. Patrick is a true team player and Altruck International is happy to have him.
VETERANS
These tech professionals have two or more years of experience at the dealership, have shown commitment to Uptime by being top producers, have gone the extra mile, and have proven they are responsible and trustworthy.
Service Technician
Levi Bearden is someone that any dealer would be glad to have. He is willing and able to perform any job assigned to him and never makes any complaints. His work is top-notch at Carolina International Trucks, and our customers know it. Levi has a good reputation in our area for being professional and honest with our customers. Many customers request him by name when they bring their trucks into the shop. They also stop by at times just to see how he's doing and say thanks. He can walk others through a repair with absolute certainty and enjoys doing so. Levi cares profoundly about the customers and conducts himself as professionally as possible. He takes every job personally, and when something goes wrong, he's the first one to scold himself.
Levi has completed all required training and is Diamond Certified. He is honest and hard-working. When solving ordinary problems, Levi is very resourceful. He has fabricated tools and equipment that make repairs possible and finds out-of-the-box workarounds that most would never consider. Levi is mindful of his time on repair jobs, and he strives to make or beat the SRT on all of his repairs. Case files are updated regularly, customers are updated, and comebacks are minimal. Quality over speed is also one of his ticks. Yes, he can meet the times, but if it's at the cost of quality, he would rather take a loss than have a comeback.
Levi is fun to be around at work and outside of work. He keeps in touch with other employees when they are sick or when other situations arise, and always offers to help. Levi is an excellent technician and individual.
Lead Bus Service Technician
Luke is a Master Certified lead technician at Leonard Bus Sales Inc., Saratoga Springs location. Luke has worked for Leonard Bus Sales for 23 years. He is an example of what all technicians should strive to be and sets a great example for the rest of his peers. One of his colleagues shared, “I hope to be as knowledgeable and capable of sharing that knowledge as he is. In all my years in the commercial industry, I have never worked with or known another technician of his caliber.”
Luke always goes the extra mile to make sure all the other techs in the shop have a solid understanding of problems they may encounter. He doesn't just tell us what's wrong and how to fix it but rather teaches us how to get to that conclusion on our own. He is always helping customers either remotely over the phone or when they come into the shop with questions or concerns. He spends the time to make sure the customer has a good understanding of the issues at hand and how we are working to help them solve those issues.
Many techs and customers struggle with electrical diagnosis, but Luke has always taken the time and effort to help us gain a better understanding of the electrical systems, reading the wiring diagrams and proper testing procedures to avoid inaccurate diagnosis. He helps to guide the shop productively and always puts the customers and company first.
Luke is just an all-around great technician and friend, whether at work or in his personal life. He is always there to lend an ear or hand to anyone in need. He motivates his peers to achieve a level of success in this industry, strive for a higher level of quality in their work, and continue to try to advance in their careers.
