ROOKIES

These tech professionals have less than two years of experience at the dealership, have shown commitment to Uptime by being top producers, have gone the extra mile, and have proven they are responsible and trustworthy.

Alex Flores-greer, Sparks, Nevada | Silver State International

Service Technician

Alex has made a huge impact at Silver State International since he started here a year ago; he is proficient in electrical diagnostics and repairs, as well as knowledgeable of most engines in the market today. His teamwork and leadership skills are excellent, and he gains the trust and confidence of colleagues and customers.  

Alex's passion and work ethic stem from his family. Alex is a family man through and through, with a loving wife and two daughters. He brings that same passion and drive to work hard in his career. He is always willing to help his coworkers with any repair or diagnostics at work as well as outside of work. He is one of the few technicians here to obtain his Diamond Certification.

Alex has the trust of all his fellow technicians as well as the trust of his service advisors, foremen, and service manager. We all know if we need a helping hand, Alex is always there. He is the backup for the Saturday foreman when he is not available, as well as the lead technician that the other technicians go to.

Alex is proficient at all the work given to him, especially with the tough jobs that are sent to us from other shops that couldn't figure them out. Alex will diagnose and repair those tough jobs with ease. He is our number one triage technician. His monthly proficiency is usually around 90–100%. He is a great guy,

Griffin Priebe, Goderich, Ontario | Altruck International Trucks

Service Technician

Griffin has been working at Altruck International Truck Centres for just over a year, fresh out of school for a diesel mechanic program in Ottawa. Especially for a person just out of school, he is excelling in his abilities and performance. His understanding of the workings of trucks is surprising considering he did not grow up around them, but his passion for putting out quality work shows in his daily workmanship. I have never asked Griffin to complete a task that he has not tackled with a smile on his face, even if we knew it was going to make him use all of his abilities and knowledge. He is always willing to learn and to tackle any job handed to him with minimal help from others, but his best quality is that he is not afraid to ask questions. 

Griffin always goes the extra mile, even if that means staying on a Friday night into Saturday morning to finish up the customer's truck so that they can have it back even though we are closed for the weekend. He always considers the customers and their needs, making sure, to the best of his abilities, they have their truck when they require it.

Griffin finished all of his training to be a rookie technician. He has shown continuous improvement and is becoming a reliable top producer in the shop with no comebacks at all. As the service manager, when giving Griffin a job to do, I have very few worries that it will not be done on time, with the greatest of professional care and commitment to doing the job right the first time and have no comebacks. He has been a great asset to our dealership, and he is just a truly special human being for how much he cares about his job and the people he works with. Altruck is a better place to work with Griffin working here.

VETERANS

These tech professionals have two or more years of experience at the dealership, have shown commitment to Uptime by being top producers, have gone the extra mile, and have proven they are responsible and trustworthy.

Zach Young, Chattanooga, Tennessee | Lee-smith, Inc

Service Technician

Zach is a seasoned technician with over 20 years of experience. He takes his time to make sure he is completing repairs right the first time while working swiftly enough to ensure the customer's uptime. Zach also mentors younger technicians at Lee-Smith Inc. He is always willing to take the time to instruct and share knowledge with the younger technicians, drawing on his valuable hands-on experience. Zach works hard to maintain Lee-Smith's reputation in the industry by providing quality repairs promptly. He is dedicated to his job and passionate about International products, communicating their value to anyone who will take the time to listen. He also lends a helping hand to his coworkers when he sees them struggling with a repair that he may have insight into.

Zach shows tremendous leadership ability and has worked his way from technician to assistant shop foreman while working at Lee-Smith. His leadership ability, along with his humility, have gained him the respect of his colleagues in the shop. The other technicians know that if they have a question, they can always go to Zach, and he will be willing to help them find the answer. Zach is consistently within the top three for proficiency in our shop. Even with the promotion to lead tech last year, he maintained his grip on the leadership board. Very few of his repairs return to the shop due to workmanship or oversight on his part. He takes his time with the truck to ensure the repair is done right the first time.

Zach is knowledgeable and respected among his colleagues and peers. He shows up and works hard every day, setting a good example for the younger generation of technicians in our shop.

Dylan Moser, Ashland, Virginia | Rush Truck Centers

Service Technician

Dylan is hands down our best technician at Rush Truck Centers Richmond. He has consistently placed at the Rush Tech Rodeo and most recently has qualified to participate in the International Top Team Competition. He is Diamond certified, International EV certified, S13 & T14 certified, has the new xEV ASE, and overall has shown a commitment to continued education and advancement in our industry. Dylan has a passion for the International product and takes every opportunity he is given to learn, advance, and better himself to make sure he is the best technician that he can be to keep our customers up and running.  

Back in 2016, our Ashland, VA location was struggling, did not have a lot of experienced technicians on the new product, and was having issues getting customers back on the road promptly. We looked internally to see how we could best serve our customers and the regional service manager at the time approached Dylan, who was at our Hickory, NC location. Dylan was brought to our Ashland, VA location to assist with getting some key customers back on the road and did such an outstanding job getting units back onto the road and assisting less experienced technicians that he was asked to stay. He relocated to Virginia. Dylan has earned our trust over the years with his commitment to learning and getting the customer's unit correctly repaired the first time. Because of this, he is always our first choice for training on new products and has always worked around his schedule when new training becomes available. He was our first tech trained on the A26, S13, and EV. 

He is just an overall great employee, always shows up to work, has a great attitude and work ethic, does what we ask of him, and always does what he can to get the customer back on the road.
