INTERNATIONAL® TRUCK AT WORK TRUCK WEEK

The mood was jubilant in Indy. Work Truck Week attendees, many of whom had made the annual pilgrimage year-after-year, could not have been happier to be back in person to reconnect with old friends, clients, business associates and many others. And because the show had not been held on-site for two years, there was much for vendors to finally be able to present. And that was certainly true for International Truck.

Taking center stage, was the Electric MV Series. Not only was the ground-breaking truck proudly displayed within the International Truck booth, it was also featured by several other body builders and was even available at the Ride-and-Drive.

Let’s take a closer look at some of the highlights from the show floor.

Many trucks were available at the Ride-and-Drive for attendees to take for a spin, but no truck received as much interest as the eMV Series. TEMs, customers, dealers and competitors all wanted to get behind the wheel and see what it was like to drive one of the very first all-electric medium duty trucks available on the market. And it did not disappoint. Without exception, every driver exited the cab with a big smile on their face.

And that includes Joe, fleet manager of a large building supply company in Texas. After hopping out he stated, “Of course, it's quiet. It handled fine, just like the regular vehicles. When you let off the accelerator, you got to be ready because it does slow you down. But it was great.”

International product specialists were also on-hand to answer any questions about the new products and features. Shows like Work Truck Week provide a great opportunity for customers to interact with International staff directly and literally hear first-hand from those who are directly responsible for the products on the show floor. It’s always a great opportunity for International to hear directly from customers and TEMs as they plan future products and enhancements.

Finally, during the International Truck press conference, it was announced that all class 6-8 International Trucks will come equipped with OnCommand® Connection. This allows customers to streamline data through one device and into one diagnostics platform, OnCommand® Connection. Streamlining this data leads to improved uptime and lower total cost of ownership for customers.
